Company Policy

At Nature Boas, we are committed to ethical practices and responsible stewardship of reptiles and other animals. We do not support the acquisition of wild-caught animals and discourage the commercial trade in wild-collected reptiles and amphibians. Our focus is on promoting responsible collecting techniques and rejecting environmentally destructive practices both in the public and private sectors.

Education is a cornerstone of our values, and we advocate for the safe and humane keeping of Boas and all pets. We firmly believe that caring for Boas and other non-traditional pets can be as enriching for individuals of all ages as the care of more commonly accepted pets like dogs and cats. Not only that, but it is also demonstrably safer. By engaging with these unique animals, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of nature, natural systems, and develop empathy for wildlife.

In our current climate of heightened political polarization, it is important to acknowledge that our right to keep reptiles and other non-traditional pets is under scrutiny. Opponents of these rights often take a black-and-white perspective, disregarding the positive outcomes that the reptile hobby can offer. It is essential to recognize that all types of pets can pose challenges or carry risks. While rescue facilities exist for dogs, cats, birds, and large animals, instances of abuse or misuse of reptiles can unfairly taint responsible keepers of Boas and similar animals. The media and the Internet play significant roles in shaping public opinion and influencing public policy.
We encourage all herpetoculturists to be mindful of how they keep and present their animals, fostering a positive and informed perception of our hobby.

If you are considering building a reptile website, we urge you to use images that portray beautiful, healthy reptiles of all sizes in the care of happy and responsible individuals. Such images will go a long way in promoting a more balanced understanding of the reptile hobby and fostering appreciation for responsible reptile enthusiasts.

Content Usage Policy
All photos, texts, and other information on this website are the property of Nature-Boas and cannot be taken or used for publication or other non-personal private use without the express written permission of Phillip Schaum. We carefully review all requests for usage and provide considered replies. Our guidelines aim to ensure that images and other materials are used in a positive and constructive manner, contributing to a more balanced understanding of the reptile hobby and promoting responsible reptile keeping.

Reservation and Shipment Information

To reserve an animal, a prepayment of 25% is required. This reservation ensures that the animal is held exclusively for you for a period of 40 days. During this time, it is essential that you arrange for the pickup or shipment of the animal. Please note that failure to pick up the animal within the specified period may result in the forfeiture of your prepayment. We allocate resources, time, and potential customers to accommodate the reservation, and any delays or cancellations can cause significant inconvenience.

Regarding shipment, it is the responsibility of the customer to organize the logistics.
We recommend discussing the shipment details with us to ensure optimal preparation for the animal's transportation.
By communicating in advance, we can provide guidance and advice to help facilitate a smooth and safe journey for the animal.
We understand that shipping arrangements can vary based on location and individual preferences, so we leave this aspect in the hands of the customer.

Please keep in mind that proper preparation and coordination are crucial to ensure the well-being of the animal during transit. We are available to assist you in discussing and finalizing the shipping arrangements, providing any necessary information or documentation required for a successful shipment.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these reservation and shipment guidelines. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Boa Temperament
While we strive to provide information about the temperament of our boas, it is important to note that we do not sell specifically "tame" or "mean" boas. Boas, like any living creature, respond to their environment and treatment. It is our responsibility as keepers to ensure that our captives receive the care and consideration they require. Various factors, including temperature, noise, other pets in the household, or even subtle changes, can influence a boa's behavior. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the temperament of any boa we offer for sale.

Other Important Tips
We strongly advise you to consider any specific husbandry advice provided regarding animals from Nature Boas. Locality and insular boas can have unique requirements and habits that differ from generic "redtails" or other commonly traded pet species.

Legal
The buyer assumes full responsibility for adhering to local codes and ordinances regarding the trade or ownership of reptiles or other animals purchased from Nature Boas. Any advertisement by Nature Boas or its owners and partners, here or elsewhere, should not be considered a guaranteed offer for sale.
